2011 MGA Officers

And Committees

The MGA Officers were elected in December 2010 and will complete their collective term in December of 2011.   The Officers  also chair 3 MGA Committees (see them below the Officers):  The Tournament Committee, the Handicap Committee and the Finance Committee.  Each member of the MGA governing body works hard to improve your golfing experience, so be sure to thank them for their efforts!

If you are interested in joining an MGA Committee, or have any questions for the Officers, please do not hesitate to contact us!

Jim has been a Member at Heathrow since 1995. He is a Director at Lockheed Martin, which specializes in developing advanced missiles and fire control for the Department of Defense. Jim and Tracy have one child, Holly, who is attending the United States Military Academy at West Point.

 

Jim’s responsibilities will include presiding at all meetings of the MGA Executive Board, the Governing Body and the MGA Membership.  He shall have general supervision over meetings, association affairs and related activities.   He may appoint special committees as deemed appropriate .

Ron has been a member of Heathrow since 2003 and is currently retired from AAA, although he continues to consult and teach at Seminole State College.  Ron and Mary Ann moved to Central Florida 20 years ago from Northern Virginia

He has served on the Handicap Committee for three years and been chairman for two.

Ron’s responsibilities will be to assure fair and balanced competition by enforcing compliance to the  Handicap Policy.  This will include the inspection of all MGA Member handicaps and establishing the eligibility for participation in MGA events based on handicap requirements.

 

John’s responsibilities will include developing and maintaining the MGA Budget for the calendar year.  He will report regularly on all of the financial activities to the Executive Board.  He and the Finance Committee shall also be responsible for procuring all necessary good and services required for MGA events.

 

 

Ed has been a member at Heathrow since relocating here from New York in 2005.  Currently he is with Stirling-Sothebys Int’l Realty here in Heathrow and focuses on both commercial and residential services.  Ed’s wife Kathleen is also an avid golfer and participates in the Ladies Niner’s group here at the Club, and his three children ages 12, 10 , and 8  are Jillian, Katherine,  and Drew .

He and the Tournament Committee shall also be responsible for creating and managing the Tournament Schedule for the calendar year.  This will include working with the HCC staff to plan all aspects of the MGA Tournaments including determining dates, rules, eligibility, and associated formats.

Steve has been a Member at Heathrow since 2001. He is a Software Engineer  at McKesson Corporation. Steve’s wife Margaret is also an avid golfer and an active member of the Heathrow Women’s Golf Association.

 

Steve’s responsibilities will include keeping records of the MGA meetings and performing other duties as may be assigned by the officers.  He will e-mail and post notices of meetings of the MGA to the members, and provide regular updates to the MGA Membership community. He will also be responsible for keeping the MGA website up to date with the latest information available.
