Annual MGA Members Meeting in Review

2009

The annual MGA membership meeting was held Thursday, December 3^rd.  The meeting was held in compliance with the MGA Constitution.

 

The current MGA officers then presented a slide show which identified the numerous accomplishments of the MGA this year, including:

 

· Continuing to update and improve our website HeathrowMGA.com

· Refined the email list to notify members of upcoming events

· Developed a tournament-by-tournament budget for 2009

· Worked with the club to negotiate food and beverage savings for MGA events

· Established an automated system that greatly improved our ability to monitor members’ compliance with the Handicap Policy

 

The election of new Officers for 2010 was completed with in-person voting.  This years election included votes emailed from members who were not able to attend.  The new MGA Officers are:  Tom McCarthy — President, Ed Lachcik — Vice President and Tournament Chairman, Ron Morehead — Handicap Committee Chairman, Jim Pappafotis — Secretary, and Ed Abate — Treasurer and Finance Chairman.

 

2009 Major Tournament champions were recognized and presented with golf hats citing their champions’ status. 

 

For those members who were unable to attend, you missed a lot of great food and drinks (all complimentary) in addition to an informative meeting.  You must plan to attend next year’s meeting, at which time we will be electing a new slate of officers and voting on any other changes that might require membership approval.
