April 6, 2010
MGA Members,
I wanted to provide a brief update to the membership and thank the many of you that have provided suggestions and ideas to all the officers and committees.
Thursday Night Shoot Out
Thursday nights are back! On April 1st we had one of our largest fields ever with 40 players our first night back this year. Please call the pro shop by 4:00pm to sign up. Don’t miss it!
Member Guest (April 15th – 17th)
We are locked at 54 teams for this great event. The venue is a great opportunity to show off your club to a friend. We will have “skip it”, special liquor company representatives, and all kinds of other fun for you and your guest. Buy your team, buy shares for flight winners, and fight your way into the final playoff on 18 to play in front of one of the largest galleries of the year.
Club Championship (completion on May, 15th)
As we shared in our most recent communication, the dangerous weather conditions prevented all but two flights from completing the final round of this prestigious tournament. Your officers have had multiple conversations with the USGA and the decision (supported by the rules of golf) is to restart the final round for those flights not able to complete during the original dates.
We recognize that depending on your individual performance the day of stoppage, your satisfaction with this might vary greatly. However, we are confident that in the spirit of true competition and the decorum befitting golf; everyone wants a true Champion crowned within the rules and in the most equitable and fair fashion possible.
The President’s Cup (May 20th and 21st)
Our 3rd Major of the year is always a great time as your two man team fights it out over two days to see who wins the Cup. This Member only event is a must play!
Your MGA officers are committed to transparency in how we conduct our business, getting you the maximum value for your dues, and keeping with the traditions of old while exploring ways to enhance each tournament experience.
On behalf of myself and all the officers, thank you for your support and involvement.
